Girl on her mehndi (rasm e hena)
Mehndi is a function celebrated before the wedding day (barat). On the occasion friends and women relatives of the bride get together and apply mehndi on the hands of the bride. Girls sing different songs with dholak and perform a traditional dance called loddi. Bride has to wear yellow dress on the occasion.
The girl in yellow dress is a pretty pakistani bride. She has been adorn with flowers, in her hands and hair (gajra). Decoration of the venue is the important factor in making mehndi function more admirable. As we notice in the picture the surroundings of the bride are decorated with the candles and flowers. Traditional style chair is used as a stage, which is furbishing the beauty of the occasion.
